Our Products
Creating alcohol products of the very highest quality is the aim that, generation after generation, has guided our activities for over 100 years.
Alcohol
RAW ALCOHOL
Alcoholic strength of 94.7º (non-fuel grade bioethanol). This alcohol is made from fresh grape pomace sourced from wineries and is used to make bioethanol.
NET ALCOHOL
Alcoholic strength of 96º-96.3º. This alcohol is made from lees produced in wineries. It is used by the beverage industry, for the production of liqueur wine, mistelle, sherry, fortified wine, etc.
NEUTRAL DENATURED ALCOHOL
Alcoholic strength of 96º-96.3º. This alcohol is made from lees and pomace. It is not used for beverages; rather, it is used by the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for the production of hydrogels, cleaning products, etc.
WINE DISTILLATE
Alcoholic strength of 94.7º. Wine distillate is produced exclusively from the distillation of wine and retains the wine’s organoleptic qualities. It is used to produce liqueur wine, brandy, etc.
WINE SPIRIT
Alcoholic strength of 77º-78º. Wine spirit is obtained by distilling wine and retains the wine’s aromas. It is used to produce brandy.
HOLANDAS DISTILLATE
This is one of our star products. It has an alcoholic strength of 65º and is obtained by distilling high-quality wine, retaining the wine’s aromas. It is used to produce brandy.
OTHER PRODUCTS
CALCIUM TARTRATE
Calcium tartrate is produced in our distillery by processing liquid waste from the distillation of alcohol products (vinasse and piquette). It is subsequently used to produce tartaric acid (E-334), an additive used in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries and especially for producing wine.
GRAPE SEEDS
The seeds or pips are extracted by separating them from the dried and de-alcoholised grape pomace. They are then used to produce grapeseed oil. Grape seeds are highly prized by the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries owing to their high concentrations of resveratrol, a natural antioxidant.
ORGANIC WASTE
We process production waste to create material that can be used in organic farming.
Our production process is cyclical and makes efficient use of the raw materials.
WHITE OR RED GRAPE POMACE AND STEMS
Whether fresh or fermented, it is washed with hot water to remove the sugar and subjected to alcoholic fermentation. It is then placed in column stills to produce raw alcohol.
The distillation process generates a liquid waste known as vinasse, along with de-alcoholised grape pomace. The vinasse provides nutrients for crops, while we use the grape pomace to produce natural fertiliser that is used in organic farming.
Additionally, the remains of the pomace are used as fuel to power the boiler, or - like the vinasse - as fertiliser for our vineyards.
LEES
After the lees have been distilled we extract the tartrate they contain, which is then sold to make tartaric acid.
WINE
After distillation, the vinasse and the remains of the lees and piquette are decanted and used for irrigation.
Reusing the distillery’s own waste
DE-ALCOHOLISED GRAPE POMACE
The dried grape pomace (without the seeds but including the stems) is stored so that it can be used as fuel in the steam boiler we use to distil the alcohol.
GRAPE SEEDS
Grape seeds are used to make products such as grapeseed oil.
VINASSE
Vinasse is used to enhance the quality of the soil.
